ive realized that each and everyone on Facebook at some point or the other promotes something. And then looks at others doing some promotion and sniggers about them, forgetting that theyre guilty of the same thing in some way or the other. My thoughts on promotion: If its something youve created and its being done in the period when its being released, like the launch of a book, a music show, music, an art show etc etc. its all good. As long as you balance out your posts and dont only talk of any one thing and have dinemtion to your posts its all good. When youre a creator its like having a very talented child. Once you have this child, if you then start getting conscious about taking that child around to the principals of the best schools and talking about his/her talent how will that child get its due? it is ones duty as an artist ke aapki kala apne anjaam tak pahunche, na sirf ke aapne create kar diya aur chchod diya. The kind of promotion I find quite sad is when someones only talking about their clothes and other peoples clothes and constantly posting pictures of themselves. I find that to be quite a sidey form of promotion. but of course, only because its not about something theyve created or something theyre trying to bring attention to beyond and above themselves. If Anita Dongre talks about clothes, by all means Ill listen a thousand times because she creates them.
