Shri Vidyadhar Bandopadhyay was instrumental in the town planning of Jaipur in the year 1727. The city, which once had been the capital of the royalty, now is the capital city of Rajasthan. The very structure of Jaipur resembles the taste of the Rajput’s and the Royal families. At present, Jaipur is a major business centre with all requisites of a metropolitan city. Shri Sansar Chandra Sen, a highly accomplished personality, was earlier Prime Minister of the princely State. A road in the city is named after him. Late Rajmata Gayatri Devi hailed from Cooch Behar (West Bengal) and thereafter there was influx of Bengalis into the city. The Jaipur Kali Bari society was founded in the year 1984 by a handful of enthusiastic and dedicated Bengalis Late. Dr, B. K. Mitra the then President, Sh. The R.R. Das the then Secretary, Sh. Pratap Bera, P Banerjee, Paritosh Dey and others are some of this pioneer founder members of the society. Idol of Maa Kali has been installed in the same year. In the year 1992, this temple was registered under public society act (Reg. No. 135/92/93/JPR), making this unique organization a socio-cultural society for Probashi Bengali minority linguistic community.
