jean.. from the secret lives of monsters book. although it took place largely unnoticed by lesser races, the great time war raged throughout all space and time - a terrible conflict between the daleks and the time lords. it was so devistating that the entire war was time locked to preserve the rest of the universe. as a result only small pieces of information have emerges. but from those details it is clear that the war was initially provoked by the time lords. forseeing a time when the daleks would have conqurered all other races anad would reign supreme, the time lords sent an agent back in time to the very moment they were created by daveros. the time agents mission was simple - avert the creation of the daleks. he failed. when they learned of the plan the daleks declared war on the time lords. it was a war that was believed ot have destroyed both races. in the final moments of the war as gallifreys second city arcadia fell to the daleks one renegade time lords used the ultimate weapon - the moment - to wipe out both races. or so it seemed.but there are rumours that the time lords survived in another reality. certainly the daleks survived. the emperor and his crippled command ship fell through time to create a new dalek race. the original race also survived preserving pure dna in progenitor devices scattered throughout the universe. even daveros it seemed escaped rescued from the jaws of the nightmare child by the last surviver of the elite dalek group known as the cult of skaro.according to some the last battle of the great time war was not the dalek attack on arcadia but the seige of trenzalore where the dalek warchip was allegedly destroyed by the time lords through a crack in the faberic of reality.
