joinbastion.org/ Dear friends and family, I am sure you have heard of the Wounded Warrior Project and Fisher House which are both worthy endeavors to help our returning injured veterans as they heal and re-establish themselves as productive civilians. I am writing to tell you about another project that is being built by Dylan Tete called Bastion. We met Dylan shortly after he and our son, Ben, graduated from West Point Military Academy and both were stationed at Fort Lewis. Dylan and Ben have remained steadfast friends throughout their military service in Iraq and Afghanistan and now in their civilian lives. Dylan has a heartfelt mission to be of service to his fellow military comrades, especially those who are injured and suffering. Of our returning injured veterans, 36% of them are suffering from traumatic brain injuries and post-traumatic stress disorder. By comparison, 10% have lost limbs. But it is these invisible injuries that are so devastating to our soldiers and their families. Many end in suicide. Dylan’s concept of Bastion is a housing community for wounded warriors, surviving families and service-oriented seniors. It aims to help heal veterans in a supportive environment, equipped with essential educational, mental health and recreational facilities. Please take a few minutes to explore the website link above. Any gift you can make to Bastion would be a tremendous help. We have so many suffering veterans and most of them are not getting their needs met by the government. Your gifts are tax-deductible and you will find an area on the website to make your donation. Thank you so much, Joyce Celver
