joy is independent of life situations...rises up spontaneously regardless of circumstance....even in deep suffering..moments of mediation and all of a sudden a wellspring of joy...it is mysterious, illogical..a force that we dont have to control ..it rises us up on its own and holds us and fills us up with energy ...all we have to do is soften, let go and open the door for the joy..it is our birthright, our gift. In western societies we are so used to looking at the lack..the lack of resources, money, time, and we may get used to a way of being with the force of joy in which we automatically shut down to it, resist it, are skeptical of it. It may take practice to discipline the mind, and relax the body, letting this joy in more and more. And when we do this long enough, we realize that this is our very natural state of being..to be joyful....a sense of connection with all things, a deep sense of security and love...our struggles and conflict with in are just a call back to this place...a teacher of mine once said...there is just one truth and that is love..all other things are a call back to love
