just a thought... a friend showed me a video of people coming out to their parents and how they reacted (most of them were not good reactions and some of their parents even disowned them.) but its actually really sad. parents are supposed to be the people you can run to and talk about anything with, go to with problems or situations, or just a safe haven to talk. but sadly most parents arent like that (not meaning only about the coming out situation, a lot of other things too.) and most people feel they have to hide things from their parents simply because they wont accept them or back them up. sure, you may not totally agree with whatever it is your kid is coming to you with, but thats the thing. you dont have to. theyre your kid, just support them and be there like a parent actually should instead of making them feel ashamed for themselves. your kids should see you as their parent, as someone they can go to, not someone they would rather hide from.
