just a wee question for those who doubt alex salmonds and the scottish governments stand on the pound sterling. when scotland becomes independent, and it will. the rest of the uk will lose billions of pounds in tax revenue. there will be a massive shortfall in the taxes it collects from oil, whiskey, and other stuff that is rightfully scotlands. they will have to make that shortfall up from somewhere. that will mean increased taxes in the rest of the uk. can you see the business world in the rest of the uk putting up with a government who is going to increase their tax burden by billions more to prove a political point. they say we will not be able to use sterling and that will mean businesses in the rest of the uk forking out on import and export taxes for goods crossing a border that.cost them nothing before . that will mean more job losses for the rest of the uk, and more importantly to businesses, loss of profits. a government who cost their manufacturers profits will tumble like a stack of bricks. this is just another scare tactic. the business classes south of the border would just not allow it to happen, and dont forget who funds the tories, it is the business classes. added to the fact that to get scotland to pay a share of the debt they have, they will have to allow scotland its rightful share of the bank of england. so you see the pound fiasco is just bluff and bluster, designed to scare voters north of the border. everyone else realises this. common sense tells you that. so stand strong and vote yes, and see what lies you have been fed, as for scotland not to share sterling makes absolutely no sense either politically, or more importantly to the business world in the rest of the uk, economically.
