just finished my first true bench rifle. I used an old chinese mauser M98 action. I rethreaded a Rem.700 stainless bull barrel at 24 in. long and machined to fit. Standard target crown. I reworked an old walnut stock to fit. Mounted a BSA 6~24x40 target scope to it. Whole build cost me around 100 dollar plus scope. It was a 30.06 i rechambered in .308. Going to go try it out now. I primarily build hunting rifles. Did this to cut my teeth before spending money. Wish me luck!
