just posted this comment on fin24: I recall during the Apartheid years a Government Director level job was advertised at around R 200 000 per year and I was earning R 250 000 per year as a salesman. Now the same Government posts are R 2 million per year [other new perks not included] and I wonder how this massive increase came about! Oh, I know, the ANC review their salaries every year and award themselves lovely increases despite ongoing POOR performance! In the business sector most of the gains by the CEOs is based on their SHARE holdings and the GOOD performance of the whole company raises the value of their shares. Why is that? Because they re-invest in themselves through the business they are in. Now COSATU are no slouches when it comes to earnings and business investments. In fact, a Trade Union supposedly representing the hard done by workers has MASSIVE corporate investments. Every Union Member pays dues to their Union which pays Affiliation Fees to COSATU who does WHAT with the money? COSATU is part of the ruling Alliance of the ANC/COSATU/SACP [leeches those SACP] and there is much money flowing UP to them but very little flowing Down to the workers who, amazingly, year on year say they are suffering and Keep these CLOWNS in Power ! If you want change, dont point fingers and vote for the same oppressors every time, make a change in your vote to get a change in your life!
