just posted this comment on news24: @Sam Moosa - Maybe Dayne should have titled her article "A LITTLE USA GOES A LONG WAY". The Americans are among the most violent, warlike and rudest people in the world. The South Africans are copying them and allowing them to bring THEIR culture into our country. Witness KFC, McDonalds, Burger King to name but a few. There is also the escalation of gangsterism (particularly in the Cape Town areas), the violence at schools etc which, in my opinion, is exacerbated by the violent films which are predominantly of American origin (even kiddies programmes). I have got no research data but my own gut-feel that statistically RSA and USA are about on a par with each other when it comes to crime, rape, corruption etc. We feel and notice it more because we are closer to it here as well as having more local news than overseas news. Sorry, I do not really like or respect Americans but you are welcome to your own opinion as it is a free country, I think??? I also think that YOU are rude calling the author a retard when she was merely expressing her opinion. Read the full article:
