just saw Shutters Island. Arent DVDs that malfunction with five minutes of the film left just the best? It was interesting at least. Wonderful location, pretty pictures, but it seemed a bit confused about what it was - a bit of horror, a bit of psychological thriller, a bit film noir, a bit of action man - and I think that sort of stymied it a bit. And, this is entirely my fault, I find Leonardo Di Caprio difficult to take as someone whos been through any sort of trauma or even life experience, I just cant see it in him. Ben Kingsley was fun. The music was very good and the end titles are worth sitting through for that reason - trying to find a video of the track to post. I cant really discuss the plot without spoilers so will just say its probably worth a look. I often found myself thinking, I wish this had been made in the 1950s rather than just set then, it would have been so much simpler and so much more satisfying I think.
