just saw this on HBO. absolutely a one a man show. tyson sometimes looks like a trained monkey here, or a trained puppet, but this is good. especially, it is historically good. accurate. past boxing greats, all of them black, end up as trained monkeys, moneyless, working for some casino or other, entertaining guests, telling boxing stories. but tyson took his primal energy and put it into speaking and moving, and while its contrived at times, it undeniably comes across as human and natural and needed. you see, so many stories have been told about tyson, at one point, he was a focus of attention for a great deal of people, and all of it was contrived. all of it with this bullshit white people energy, either of manipulation or fear or adoration. well tyson has mastered that contrived white energy, that white speech, and he laughs with it and about it and at it, and while he is puppet, he is also puppeteer here, and it makes for a hell of a show, and a hell of an energy. and I, having been alive and burning at many of the times hes talking about, recognize that energy. careful though, for people with A-type personality, this can trigger A LOT of addictive patterns.
