just spent a week in Sunderland, North East region of england, painting the outside of a shipping container as well as an installation piece for the inside. The container will be part of a live event broadcast on BBC1 on Good Friday where 12 other containers will be assembled as part of an arts project which explore the stations of Jesus journey. I was asked to respond to one of the themes of one of the stations of isolation and explore that theme through a different perspective. So we explored it from different angles, including a non-christian perspective as well as a modern understanding of these themes, incorporating the ideas of local people and the congregation at St Cuthberts church. The inside includes a soundscape piece i am editing together that will be played, as well some odd objects that have been placed - cant say anymore! Here are some students that had been studying my work already during Religious Studies and had no clue i was painting this container around the corner from their school so were pleasantly surprised! Sorry cant share any more pix, until after the broadcast of the live event on Good Friday!
