just wanna throw this out there.. i have a feeling it is gonna be against the rules and eventually deleted but i feel like i gotta put this out there. so about a week or so ago i put my 37 inch goodyears up here for sale. they were too big for my jeep and werent suited for my needs. i posted in the ad that i wanted to trade for either some 33s or 35s, as long as the tread was good and the tires overall were in good shape. well, i get a message from a member here saying that hes got some thornturds with good tread that hell trade me. i got a couple pictures of the tread and the tires looked good. well we arrange a time to meet up and once im there, i unload my wheels and tires for him..he says there are some marks on the sidewalls, which is..alright.. i load one of his in my jeep and hes gone. i think nothing of it and keep loading. i get home and notice that three of the 4 tires have not only chunks taken out of the sidewalls but also have the outer layer of rubber peeling off (the picture attached is the sidewall peeling off). now, i know most of the issue is me. i should have checked before i even loaded my tires up. but he had pictures of them and they looked alright and i ASS-U-ME-d that they were good. here is where my issues with him come into play.. i messaged him a picture of the sidewall and asked if he really drove with them like that. he said yea its just the putter its got four layers. whatever. the wheels are good and i already had another set of tires lined up for the wheels and i didnt care too much anymore. so tonight i go to message him to see if he had any pictures of his jeep on my old wheels because i wanted to see what it looked like! (badass orange wrangler on 37s, who doesnt love that!?) and i see he blocked me. i text him and no response. so i basically gave him a full set of 37 inch goodyear MTs, a brand new set of wheels, adapters, and even went out of my way to get all the lug nuts he needed, and i got a set of wheels with not one useable tire. and again, i should have checked them out prior to loading them up, but after seeing pictures of his jeep on them and him saying theyre good tires, i felt as if i had nothing to worry about. im not posting this to bash this particular user, but just to warn people that everything may not be as it seems and to triple check everything if youre doing a trade. learn from my mistake.. in the end i have a set of wheels and a good set of tires i got from another person, but only after basically giving away a couple hundred dollars. thanks for reading.
