juz thought id post this since someones saying stripping a schnauzer is abusive n uncalled for regarding a picture of a stripped MS dat jack posted n deleted already.. comparing stripping dogs with waxing on a human. stripping when done correctly AND from a pup is not painful. my schnauzer has nv been shaved b4, i dun strip her to the bare skin because shes not a show dog n i prefer to have length. its only painful when done on a dog with a soft coat thats been shaven for years. once the coat is harsh, its not painful to strip, mayb uncomfy on the more sensitive parts like the thighs near bum area n head area etc. u cannot compare a human doing waxing with stripping a wire haired dog. these dogs coat are DESIGNED to be stripped and not shaved. in fact no dogs shld ever be shaved, dats y show dogs are either stripped (terriers), kept long and hand-scissored (maltese, shih tzus etc) or kept as it is for the natural coated ones juz removing undercoat (ie Goldens, huskies etc). stripping in fact, keeps the skin n coat in better condition than shaving. waxing on a human btw is removing an entire area of hair with force quickly. its NOT the same as stripping. worlds apart. if u wanna compare to a human, then the closest would prolly b plucking our eyebrows. Dont b too quick to label stripping as abuse when its actually the breeds standard and the CORRECT way of grooming a terrier/wire haired dog.
