If you like investigating things and can get your creative ideas across to people; this could be the ideal job for you. You would need to be a good organizer and be able to work accurately. You’ll also have to be patient and determined when trying to track down information that is hard to find. JOB DESCRIPTION: Your tasks would include: * developing film, television or radio concepts in pre-production stage * discussing programme ideas and researching programme needs with producers * finding and checking information, using sources such as the internet, libraries and museums * writing programme profiles, pitches and proposals * searching media libraries and archives for music, photographs and film footage * writing briefs for presenters, scriptwriters and production personnel * checking copyright and arranging permission to use archive material * finding studio audiences and programme contributors * looking for locations * keeping detailed records * researching and writing content for websites and social media linked to TV or radio programmes and films * monitoring production activities on location/studio ENTRY RQUIREMENTS: OND, HND, B.Sc., B.A. in any discipline. A film school certification or previous experience on film and TV productions is an added advantage. SKILLS, INTERESTS AND QUALITIES: As a media researcher, you should have: * good written and spoken communication skills * excellent research skills * excellent computer and internet skills * good organizational and administrative skills * a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail * the ability to work well on your own and also as part of a team * creativity and initiative * patience and determination * multi-tasking ability and a flexible approach to work * the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
