karen and the boys have been gone 5 days visiting their relatives in NH. since they left my neighbor and i have run a 100 water line 6 underground to my barn and installed an underground hydrant, fixed the electric fence, replaced our kitchen faucet, built 4 new 7 doors for the barn, cleaned out the basement and rebuilt an enclosure to make room for 50 new baby chicks arriving tomorrow, raked and spread 1500 sq ft of grass seed and mulch, repaired 2 hoses, cleaned the house, did a load of laundry and managed to keep our farm and animals alive. today we are building a huge enclosure over the fruit bushes to keep the birds at bay, hooking up the ends of the well line, hopefully installing the solar to run the whole mess and prepping the foundation area of the new mushroom grow house. its been busy. homesteading is not for the weak of heart or the employed.
