kitten HILDIE and kitten HONEY go to their Forever Home together!!!! We were over 3 months old when we were rescued and true scaredy cats! If you rescue a scared/shy kitten when its younger than 10 weeks or so, you can often get them to become very outgoing - but the older the kitten the harder it is. Thats why SBACCs foster homes are so important - all of the socializing, playing, petting and holding is therapy! Our foster Mama Cindy is a professional kitty therapist, if you ask me! She spends all of her time socializing her foster kittens and cries whenever one of her babies gets adopted because by that time shes so in love with them its hard to say goodbye! HONEY and I were still pretty shy when we were brought to the Center. I started getting braver and braver everyday but HONEYs favorite activity was hiding under a blanket until nighttime. Volunteer Amy started spending extra time with me and my sister. She saw our potential and fell in love! She originally only wanted to adopt one cat but my sister and I are a package deal - wed be heartbroken if we werent together! The other day Amy brought in her partner Jess to try to convince her that 2 was better than one! Jess spent 5 minutes with us and said of course we have to adopt both girls. I get to start my Happily Ever After with my sister/best friend and we have 2 Mamas to teach us that we dont need to be scaredy cats anymore! love, HILDIE
