lady in Dublin trying to help a GSD from an abusive situation. Here is an extract from her email. It is only in the last year that I have become slowly aware of this poor dogs plight. It is constantly barking all night long for the last 8 months or so and I can only guess that this is probably due to its deteriorating mental state. According to one neighbour, its owner was seen chasing the poor dog around the garden with a shovel. I have tried to get help for this dog with the Gardaí, Dublin SPCA, Dublin County Council and anyone else I could think of, but I am only too aware of the lack of legal protection for animals. The owner of this dog called to my door this morning to say he was willing to give up the dog. He had found a friend who will take the dog, who has also had security issues, has lots of space and neighbours wont be able to hear the dog. This worries me greatly as I feel the dog will end in the same situation. On impulse I told him that I too knew someone who would take the dog, and he said whoever could take him first could have him.. His friend could collect it in 4 or 5 days. Can anyone help this poor dog?
