On June 7, 2013, various news outlets announced that contestants in The Miss World Beauty Pageant would not be featured wearing bikinis this year. This is due to the fact that the pageant is being held in Indonesia, the country with the largest Muslim population in the world. It was reported that the decision was made out of respect to the Muslims living in that region. I respect the rights of others to exercise their religion, but since when is a beauty contest supposed to be a religious event? Sadly, this is only a symptom of a larger problem. Little by little, the world is giving in more and more to Islam. The word Islam actually means submission.This brings to mind the disturbing image of Barack Hussein Obama bowing down to kiss the ring of the Saudi King. The world is increasingly submitting to the demands of Islam and you can be certain that there is money involved, tons of money. The world is selling its soul to the highest bidder, which happens be the leaders of powerful Muslim countries. Sowhere’s Gloria Steinem when you need her? Where are all of the bra burning feminists now? Where are the pro-choice, ACLU, Code Pink, hippie liberals hiding?Maybe in hookah bars!Why are they not speaking up for the women who are being oppressed in these Muslim countries? Still, liberals needn’t worry. The New York Times says that the pageant will emphasize the “inner beauty” of the contestants. Whew! That’s a relief! You liberals can go back to smoking your hookah now! So what will the women be wearing in the beauty pageant? Well, not burkas…yet! They will be wearing good old-fashioned one-piece bathing suits. These will be in the style of a sarong, kind of like a beach towel. This leads me to another concern. Is it just me or does anyone else notice a disturbing trend in women’s fashion these days? It’s hard to go to a department store or women’s boutique and find anything that doesn’t have an Islamic theme. Dresses are looser and cut in the style of an Islamic hijab. Collar lines are heavily bejeweled in a Cleopatra style. Sandals are tied around the ankle. Large scarves and thick bracelets are worn as accessories.Is this Muslim fashion trend simply a coincidence? I think the following video will answer that question. I don’t have a problem with multiculturalism. In fact, it was part of the Liberal Studies Program that I completed to get my teaching credential…in California, no less! What I do have a problem with is a secret (actually pretty obvious) agenda to bring Islam and eventually Sharia Law into the United States. Sadly, we have all witnessed what has happened in Europe with Sharia Law in their society. We need to do everything in our power to protect our Constitution as the law of the land that it has always been. While I am certain that I will be painted as an Islamophobe for even having an opinion on these matters, the fact is that I live in a country where I am allowed to have that opinion. I am even allowed to voice my concerns without fear of retribution. I can wear a bikini or a burka if I so choose.
