last night I drove into anchorage to run some errands. On my way - TopicsExpress

last night I drove into anchorage to run some errands. On my way in I heard on KLOVE a story of how these newlyweds bought dessert for some veterans at a restaurant, they said dessert was all they could afford but they did what they could. I thought to myself thats cool! I asked the kids later that night, where they wanted to eat and they said Golden Corral, I wasnt gonna say no to that! Lol So we are standing in line and I look up and see two men wearing their service hats and one was limping along with a cane , and their two wives had support our veterans shirts on. They were across from me at the other checkout stand talking to the checkout lady with a look of confusion on their faces. They had thought there was a special for veterans and the checkout lady told them it was next week. With looks of disappointment they started to turn back and walk out. Right away I thought of that story I heard on the radio and yelled and waved across, stay! I will buy you dinner! They looked at me like I was nuts but I kept waving at them to get back in line and told my checkout girl their bill was on me. All four of them walked over to me and gave me a hug, and thanked me. Then the lady handed me her card and said this is what we do and it was a veterans support group card and they spend their time and lifes work helping veterans. She said we always are helping other veterans and this is the first time anyone has ever done something for us! I told them it was the least I could do for them serving our country. I probably would have never thought about reaching out and paying for their meal if it wasnt for hearing that story on the radio, I am sharing this so that maybe when someone hears this story, they will be reminded to show kindness when they can! :) God bless!
