let me share with you an aspect of my life as an artist... when working on a new album like the one i am doing now: 0. i start the process with a goal that i am seeking to achieve in the subject matter and styles of the album (styles plural tho). my goal is to do what i have not done before, which means doing it better than i have ever done it before. I let my divine purpose guide me in the endeavor to give me a deeper sense of focus and execution. at this stage i usually come up with a rough draft of the album title as an abstract of sorts. 1. then I make and create music that speaks the tone of my sentiment, emotions, mind state and frequencies that brings me healing in the moment i make and create it. 2. then i write lyrics that bring to life the subject matter and styles (styles plural tho) that i seek to expound on in the project. 3. then i combine the lyrics with the music, while exploring and developing cadences and deliveries to expound on the musical and lyrical styles (styles plural tho) of the music and lyrics i have created. 4. then i record raw takes of the songs and listen to them repeatedly, to determine if the healing force lasts beyond the moment i first created the music/song combination. 5. then i revise and edit the subtle and obvious details of the flows and music to refine and focus the most potent aspects of the compositions. 6. then i study which order of songs that most effectively tells the story of my intended goal and subject matter, often revising the perspective of my original intent or solidifying it based on my efficiency in execution. at this point I will either know that the original album title is appropriate or I begin to reconsider the album title. 7. then i listen to the album in its most effective song order to determine the healing power the project has on me. 8. then when I have reached the point where the healing moment is eternal in the recording of the album and I am blessed by the journey each song takes me through: the recording process is complete. I give the album its final name and it is finished. 9. the last step is presenting a song/video to the world and or finishing the album cover. usually after 3-4 songs minimum: i release the album. whole time tho: this is what is happening everyday and I have managed to get better every year. the medicinal effect of this process makes it a life time mission. all the rejection, desolation, loneliness, disappointment, pain, joy, laughter, anger, memories, purpose, and soul drive me to execute over and over again. so... check for my new album November 12th, 2014. #NovemberTwelfth
