lets assemble and protest against power and water shortage Cdes and compatriots, friend and foe this country is now boring. power and electricity shortages have reached a crisis level...this is unprecedented;Botswana has never seen anything like this...its like we are a country afflicted by war. the crisis shows that after more than 50 years of existence and 48 years at the helm of our politics, the ruling BDP is bereft of ideas on how to provide basic services to this nation. this country can be energy self sufficient and can even export power to other countries...the lack of political economic foresight and lackadaisical attitude of the BDP bigwigs have plunged this nation into a crisis...businesses have been lost, education disrupted, social life disturbed and many other social ills committed as a result of power outages...let us rise against oligarchs who are obviously not affected by this and assemble and protest...let us demand accountability and action from thieves leading us and lets turn on the heat on the Thief in Chief himself... When I joined the BCP just after began by form 4 at SPSS, I knew from the likes of Gil Saleshando that for the economy to generate wealth and for the fundamentals to be strong the country has to be energy self-sufficient....I heard that power and water are not luxuries but essentials for socio-economic development. I was told by party elders that Botswanas economy is undiversified and that as long as it is like that it wont create jobs and neither can it generate wealth...I heard about the basics of backward and forward linkages, mineral beneficiation and the need to harness vital sectors such as agriculture and tourism...those who debated us while we were at SPSS may recall that we always had BCP DDP and 1999 manifesto; I still have those copies today... down with the BDP down down with corruption down down with kleptocracy down viva BCP viva I remain Cde Sticks
