library.wmo.int/pmb_ged/wmo_1103_en.pdf This document is based on over 12,000 peer reviewed climate studies, making it the most solid scientific evidence anywhere from any discipline. I know it’s long and technical but the most compelling section for me is section 5.1, Greenhouse gases and climate. In particular, the fact that the radiative forcing (radiation from the sun thats not reflected back into space) Caused by Long Lived Greenhouse Gases has increased by 29%, with carbon dioxide accounting for nearly 80% of this increase. This coupled with the fact that for 10,000 years before the beginning of the industrial revolution (for arguments sake marked as 1750) CO2 remained around 280ppm, but from 1750-2010, has increased by 39% to 389ppm defines in no uncertain terms mankind’s role in climate change. Even more alarming is the fact that over the last decade, anthropogenic (man-made) CO2 is responsible for 85% of the total increase of overall global radiative forcing, so the overall impact of our emissions is on the rise. Climate change is not some fad dreamed up by Al Gore to sell books, or some hippies looking for attention – its hard science supported by an enormous amount of evidence.
