like a blink of an eye: During September of 2008, I met, in a mystical trip with abundance of synchronicities , the remarkable Director at Preston Contemporary Art Center (PCAC), Paul Shranz. Although the art gallery was closed, he opened and generously gave me his time and attention. Next, I had the privilege to be part of his 2009 summer exhibit at PCAC. The result of this magical event in my professional life, as an artist, encouraged me to continue creating art, at the same time that I pursued a Bachelor degree in Art painting. 2010 fall at UTEP, was my first semester at 455 art painting studio, a vortex of pure creative energy. I invested one and half years doing what I like, art painting. Today, most of these artworks are installed at the second, third and fifth floors of the State building, downtown of El Paso, Texas. I earned a Bachelor degree in Art painting and Museums studies, the latter put me in the road as artist/researcher/communities, investing the following two years doing art and research; created my first art installation at the art graduate room and the Art HACEP community expression project were part of my journey, ending with a Master degree on December of 2013, same month I initiated my conversations with NMSU Graduate School about an Interdisciplinary Doctorate program, now December of 2014, I am officially an interdisciplinary doctorate student, where Art, Spirituality and Healing are the core topics. Redundant to observe, that Indigenous Ways of Knowing (IWOK) and its strong link with spirituality, shamanism practices and rituals has been an influential factor. On the other hand, under the Western thinking, C.G. Jung emerged out of the blue with his mystical The Red Book and his enigmatic used of artistic expressions to connect with our unconscious mind. Art heals, Art in healing and Art psychotherapy, as today, are emerging. With this in mind, who really knows what the new and magical day will bring?
