like it or not the world series worked out right. the red sox gave boston something 2 cheer after the marathon bombing with the 1st home world series victory since 1918. they came thru where the yankees couldnt after 9/11/01. the cardinals did well in honoring the great stan the man musial who died earlier this year. at least they had already won 2 series for him in 06 & 11. finally it was a fitting tribute 2 their old hero announcer tim mc carver who retires this year. he started w/the cards in 1958 & played as a reserve for the red sox in 1975 in that world series, arguably the greatest one ever played. his career finally ended in 1980 w/the world champion philadelphia phillies who had been even more hapless than the red sox. altogether he played in 5 getting 3 rings. couldnt have happened 2 a nicer guy. as they say in baseball, u did good kid
