I have recorded a jamming session for melodies in upcoming composition The Water, The Soil, and Trees. The live jam has the following structure: Riff A - 4 x Riff B -4 x Riff C1 - 4 x Riff D - 4 x Riff C2 - 3 x Ending improvisation - 1 x A musically literate person should realize that I use 6/4 time signature which is not very common but is one of my favorite ones. The first and the second riffs represent patterns which would appear throughout the song in various variations. The third riff is a variation of the second riff with different modulations. The fourth riff is a arpeggio patterns mixed with dyads/ harmonized chords combo to complete the phrase. There is room for harmonizing with guitars. The second riff is played again towards the end in a slightly different manner. The last few seconds represent a mini solo improvisation. I am fan of subtle variations and my compositions should hopefully showcase this technique. For instance, notice that riff A accompanied chords played a little differently. Similarly, riff B has subtle variations of a similar melodic theme! By the end of December the better camera would be obtained and I would record guitar live sessions early 2015. By the middle/end of January the rhythm section and basic guitars would be recorded.
