living in a small city in a rural setting and in a third world - TopicsExpress

living in a small city in a rural setting and in a third world country like surigao, philippines has its own advantages as well as disadvantages. yesterday we didnt have cable tv for 10 hours but when it was restored the pictures came in clearer. around 5:30 PM yesterday afternoon water service was interrupted. calls from my friends at the local water utility company revealed that they were cleaning the dam of murk. it was back later in the evening though early morning today it was off again but shortly after water came out of our faucets. its good that the phone, electric company and internet service provider were good. in the national scene, christmas cheers is expected early when a higher tax exemption was passed in congress. this means higher net take home pay for worker though the department of finance is lobbying to hold the implementation for a while. the department of trade and industry said that price of bread will go down before christmas because of lower flour price in the world market and so with gasoline products. however because of port congestion in manila ports, some products will have to raise their prices and balikbayan boxes to reach consignees in january 2015. i guess uncle sam is unloading its vast deposit of oil in texas and alaska to the consternation of russia. not only G-20 countries agreed to ,lower remittance fees of OFWs remittance to the philippines of their hard earned money. again, the lowly pinoys have still to feel the bonanza that the national government has been harking because of the strong economy kuno.
