lright, I guess I need to go ahead and just come clean with everyone. I will be having cataract surgery on Aug 4th..Most of you know I have had to have my eyes checked every 6 months since my stroke because it was an occipital stroke and left me with some blind spots. A couple of weeks ago when I went for my usual 6 mo check, the doc told me I have bad cataracts on both eyes and for me to pick which one to do first...I choose and surgery is scheduled so I know this is a temporary problem. Had no idea I had cataracts...thought it was all just related to the blind spots and thought I was doing fairly well adjusting to this visual challange. However, the past week or two, things are getting lots worse....almost on an hourly basis. So if you see me out somewhere and I dont appear to see you or I dont acknowledge you or you send me a text or message and I dont respond appropriately...just know I really cant see. Most of the time everything is a burry mess. I am trying to maintain normal activities but it is a challenge and very frustrating. There are short periods of time when my vision is better than other times, so I try to do as much as possible whenever I get the chance and my eyes are working properly. I want the doc to do both eyes at the same time, but he says no...Hell do one this time andand the other in a few weeks if I still want it done. Please bear with me during be patient with me.
