m.youtube/watch?v=O0YCRZpWLMc January 2nd - nothing really happening here at Tamworth Base Hospital - ive had two rather sleepless nights where at 5am the last two mornings this antibiotics pump just plays up so Jane one of my nurses has to spend the best part of 40 minutes trying to clear the bloody lines so the air bubbles dont end up in my heart - both mornings successful. Today starts like any other with a injection in the tummy obs taken then wait for a nurse who has time to bag my feet (so I wont get moisture in them when I shower and hence a infection) then bag my forearm (for the same reason) then into shower and shave shampoo wash etc then rip the bags off get dressed with the assistance of a nurse (Betina was on this morning) - the whole exercise takes about an hour. Today was also the day to change the heel wound dressings again Betina handled these as she is a wound specialist the heels look great and are coming along well although it will take another 4-5 months for them to close over. Then came the dressing on the entry of the PICC line again Bertina then she was gone. After lunch it was gym as usual which went fine however the pump I have on me went into overload saying there was a problem yadda yadda yadda so I came back in to my room and after a fair amount of counciling by three of the nurses a call was made to intensive care to let them know exactly what was going on so before I knew it a ICU nurse arrived with a bunch of equiptment and in due process the blockage was cleared and the new lines for the pump put in and a new dressing for the PICC line was again applied I tell you with the amount of hair removed everytime they change this dressing and the pain involved I could never in my wildest dreams as a female suffer the pain involved with a Brazilian no way! Anyway Im not sure what this evening brings but I tripped over this clip from Seals & Crofts that Ive never seen before and I doubt most wouldnt have - Australia was one of their most successful, territories ;)
