made a few adjustments to the oil burning furnace I built. The fill drip rate was just a little to high, so this morning had to burn off some extra oil that collected inside. But think I have it set properly now. A drip rate of approx one pint per hour and it seems to be running fine and staying lit. Making a 5 gallon bucket of oil capable of running the furnace for at least 36 hours, turning it up some for a little more heat 24 hours. Considering the fuel source id oil from oil changes and the primary source of the oil the service from a big rig, makes it very effective. The average oil change from a big rig is 10 to 12 gallons of oil, then along with the service, new oil and fuel filters. And the start up fuel is diesel, big rigs have two and sometimes 3 fuel filters, each holding about a pint of diesel, so one big rig service, provides a quart of diesel for start up and only about half a cup is needed, and at least 10 gallons of oil, so one service can run the furnace for almost three days. In the shop, there are at least 5 oil services per day. One day of oil changes runs my furnace, in the shed, for better then a week. Maybe I look into a fireplace inside too, that also burns the old oil, and just a couple days of oil changes provide a weeks worth of fuel for heat
