many of us are attracted to antique books. I get a feeling of awesome reverence when I view these beautiful books. While it is thought that the first stories were told by word of mouth, I think it was quickly realized that stories needed to be recorded. But on occasions, there were some who felt the recorded knowledge should go bye-bye. A great Ancient library, which held vast volumes of knowledge about the wisdoms of pre-historical times, was said to be opened in Alexndria by Ptolemy in 323-283 BC. It stored a lot of pre-dynastic knowledge of early Egyptian wisdom, but it included many cultural treasures now lost. Sources differ as to who is responsible for the atrocity of the book burning. When Christianity became the most widespread of beliefs, often the early church washed over ancient Pagan knowledge, or burned valuable information scrolls and books, so that only true wisdom might be known,[theirs]. The books that were carefully washed over, were rewritten with applicable Christian writings. Similar acts were committed by the early church authorities when they burned down Pagan churches, and built their own churches on top of old revered places of worship. Today, while we think we have evolved into a more intelligent people, I read on one Google site I found under Ancient book burning I read an authoritive writer who said that the Bible only included writings by an apostle, or under guidance by an apostle. Other books were not included because they were false writings. How canned! Only scant whisperings of speculation remain of many destroyed knowledge sources. Mostly we hear bits and pieces through philosophers such as Apollonius, Eratosthanes. Aristophanes, Aristarches, and most familiar of all... Plato, who is well known for his stories of an lost continent, known as Atlantis. But today we can only speculate an suppose what treasures of wisdom was lost. WHO KNOWS>>> AND WHAT IF? I dont know where I got speculative information that helped me come up with a story of real people whose tales have been lost and perverted through false histories and the ruinous dust and destruction of time. I hope all my readers know that my story, the first in a Triology about a lost people, TRANSMUTATION OF THE FEY...is a story that is WHAT IF, AND WHO KNOWS! But it is fun to speculate! https://facebook/DonnaDaywomanThompson
