#marcwithacsongoftheday Clearly, this song was written for the Popular Music album simply so Id have something to play when people yell for Freebird at concerts. Turns out Ive now played it so much that Im a wee bit sick of it, which really says more about our concert behavior as a whole than anything else. So lately, when people yell for the song at public events, Ive just proudly shown off my middle finger and been like there you go, that one is free. Not as effective, but good enough. Others have done similar types of songs which I was unaware of until after my song had come out. In particular, I recommend Marian Calls song of the same name, and especially The Guy Who Yelled Freebird by The Doubleclicks. I love The Doubleclicks so much that Im tempted to just write about them instead. Whatever, just go check out The Doubleclicks.
