matt has tonsillar cancer with metastasis to lymph nodes in neck. we conferenced with the oncology team. matt has surgery on dec 31 at 12:30 and will spend a couple of days in hospital. they plan to take out his tonsils and do a neck disection and remove lymph nodes. on about a month he will have a port placed and have chemo and radiation treatments 5 days a week for about 6-7 weeks. they are very aggressive but the cure rate is 80%. he has a huge battle ahead and will lose weight and be weak and sick. we dont know what to think. just pray about it is all we can do. they said thst the cancer is pretty aggressive and surgery, chemo and radiation is definately needed to get ahead of it.
