mmm... #1 the quotes are actually much more subtle than the headline suggests... and often argue *against* any one size fits all strategy... #2 i do wonder whether the decline in emphasis on *memory* has been counter-productive... but there are many different ways to train memory as well... #3 the main problem, to me, is the global emphasis on *money*, which means that any form of education/learning/training is merely instrumental, and not valued for itself, as part of a self-development *process*... #4 i wonder what the situation in china will be in the near future, a) if they continue to progress economically, and b) if they were to become a less autocratically structured society... ?
