more and more color guard is about Shapes, colors, and motion...and how those shapes are defined by color and motion. Also, these thought lend themselves to the velocity and congruency that said shapes develop and what emotions can be expressed thru the musical ideas that is the catalyst of the entire thought. im a rifle guy, who tends to be more proficient on saber, who spins flag because its almost a given in color guard..whos learning to move better (ill never dance.lol) and whos growing as a designer. ive all of a sudden learned to THINK about color guard.......and not just watch it or do it.....hopefully i can convey this to my students..to make them successful color guard performers. I want my guard to not only be able to spin, but spin intelligently and know why this and that happens and what caused this to happen and why a toss goes there....ect.
