#mothertonguegh is a movement to push & invoke the desire & interest of Ghanaians to interact on social media using their local language. This practice has been successful in many other African countries such as SA(Zulu,Xhosa,etc,),tanzania,Zimbabwe,zambia,kenya,nigeria,namibia etc.. this is because they believe in their culture and are using social media to promote it. This has put their language on the international map. Its about time Ghanaians did same to promote their local language, so we can start by chatting with friends on social media with local language, writing your status in local language, commenting on pictures and other posts using local language etc. I believe this movement is not intended to create division but rather to promote our Ghanaian culture. Am not saying you should stop using English but use it with the local language side by side. I call on all Ghanaians who use social media to join in this campaign and make it their movement, from politicians,religious leaders,opinion leaders,media advocates,media personnel,workers In all fields,students and everybody who uses social media.
