my brother oliver got his dental and my brother ludwig was neutered. oliver ended up having a molar that had to be taken out because under his gums, it was deteriorating and in the xrays, the veggie saw and said it should be removed. he has stitches where it was and pain medicine. his white blood cell count is low because he is an FIV+ kitty, so they gave him an antibiotic injection too so he wont get an infection while his mouth heals. ludwig got microchipped too, so now all of us are chipped and registered. here are some images from olivers dental. he was good for the veggie and the techs and his teeth look nice and clean. he seems to have issues with his teeth, he had a broken canine when mom got him and he had to have 2 bottom fangs removed last year because they were deteriorating under the gums. the veggie said that can happen a little more frequently with FIV+ kitties for some reason. hopefully he wont have anymore issues, mom puts a dental additive in our water to help our teeth and the rest of us have really good teeth every time we get them checked by the veggie
