my dear friend Olivia has inspired me to share a little of what i had on my mind yesterday about love. A very good quote many people often repeat is written by one of my favorite poets, Alfred, Lord Tennyson. It is about a close friend of his who had died. In the face of the pain of his loss, He said, tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. It is so true. A strong heart will love,and love will expand you. It will break your heart at times, and hurt you. It may bring loss and cause you to face great suffering, rejection, or abandonment. but loving anyways in the face of the pain, and loving in the midst of change and loss through the tears, is love in truth and it will work in you a priceless treasure. Love never fails. It sees through the suffering because of the joy set before Him. it loves ardently with abandon, first the Lord, true Love himself, and then being filled with Love, overflows abundantly and without falter to all around him. Love protects, love guards. Love see and knows and does not despise. Love covers and calls forth Truth. Love rejoices in, Love does not give up, does not give in. Love is not swayed. Love encircles, Love sets ablaze. Love cleanse and prunes, Love strips away and speaks new life. Love empowers. Love speaks truth. Love writes His name on our head. Love holds us close. Love carries us. Love washes our feet and love fulfills the law. Love finishes the race, and the course laid before Him. Love never fails. Love brings life. I am glad to have loved. i have lost. I have left. I have loved and not had it returned. I have lost, i have gained, i have given love, and given love away. i have lost, but i have found love holds true. and i have never lost my love for you. i am thankful for every heart that has touched mine, every eye that has looked beyond mine. every tear i have shared, every hug, every prayer. Every joke, every song, every dance. every sharing and tearing and breaking and falling together, and widening my heart to let love in and fill it. In the face of loss we are faced with a temptation. To shut down, build walls, refuse to get close again to anyone. Protect ourselves from the pain that is having to let love go, losing love, loving and knowing, being loved and known. Intimacy is a scary thing that makes us vulnerable. but He didnt waver, He opened His heart to all who would seek for it. he did not waver. he looked into our eyes and loved us while we killed Him. Because of His love for us, He gave us His very life. So let us choose to love still, to embrace the cross of this undying love, and embrace the pain of the death of ourselves, gladly given for His.Allowing Him to break us to heal and restore us. Allow His love to fill us and flow through us and carry us and others. To see the value in the treasure we love that is worthy of it all. and the treasures He gives us to love that are worthy of our love. In great joy, let us give ourselves away. By the power of His love, flowing through us bringing life. Let us love one another not in word or in tongue but in deed and in truth. And i have loved you, and i will always love you, and gladly carry your heart in mine. My beautiful lovely ones, truly you are His beautiful lovely ones.
