my first nursing job in 1993 was in Arlington, WA down the road from the mudslide. Drove past the slide area dozens of times. I moved there in 1994 with another nurse, who is a local. I worked & partied with them. Took care of their grandparents (I worked in the local nursing home). Its a tiny close-knit rural area, a place where you know each other. I dont know the lost victims but I did their families. always wanted to move back.
