Well, I know Ive felt that way before, and Im not ashamed to admit I was wrong. Trying to prove your naysayers wrong could ultimately prove that they were right all along because your actions are birth from a place of pride instead of humility. Through Christ and a renewing of my mind, Ive been able to resign from trying to focus on the words of those who oppose me. Instead, I focus on being obedient to God no matter how outlandish it looks or sounds to others. Success isnt about how much one can acquire or how big of a platform/audience one can build; its about obedience to the instructions of our holy God. Im learning that loving people means I dont have to try to impress them or prove them wrong. Im becoming so free from peoples opinions, and that makes it easier to serve them even when theyre rude and abrasive. Ultimately, I perform for an audience of one--my holy God.
