...my thoughts for the road: So far no one has suggested, nor made the case, that it costs more per unit to produce electricity power as the quantity produced goes up. In fact, any argument of such nature will be contrary to basic economic principles which states that until diminishing returns sets in, the marginal and average cost of producing a particular good decreases with the increase in production. So my question is, why should consumers pay more per unit of electric power consumed above certain thresholds and unit-bands? It wont cost a dime more to produce that extra unit consumed, so why pay more? Except as usual we want to punish success? Think about it...and good evening folks.
