myPolice QPS News IMMEDIATE EMAIL NOTIFICATION Attempted abduction, Hervey Bay Police have released a comfit of a man who may be able to assist them with their investigations into the suspected attempted abduction of a girl in Hervey Bay on Wednesday. Preliminary investigations indicate around 8am, a 15-year-old girl was riding her bike when she was approached by two men on Bideford Street in Torquay. The men attempted to coerce the girl into a white van with black roof racks. The girl rode away and it is alleged the two men gave chase on foot for a short while before returning to their vehicle. One of the men is described as being Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 30s with a tanned complexion and short brown hair. The man had a scar across his left eye from just above his eyebrow down to his cheek. The girl was not physically injured and police are appealing for anyone who may recognise the man depicted in the comfit image to contact Crime Stoppers or their local police.
