n my opinion, there is no greater threat to our lifestyle than the passage of Measure L, which would bring 1950 low-income homes to our northeast doorstep and essentially render Norco an on and off ramp to the 15 freeway and a short cut to the shopping on McKinley. I am extremely disappointed by the Firemen of the City of Riverside, most of whom do not live in the area, who endorsed this boondoggle, and hope the voters in the city see through this terrible assault on both La Sierra and Norcos lifestyles. Many people have told me I am wrong when I state Norco is the last city in the state to require 1/2 acre parcels. Then, they cite areas located within citys and countys. This Measure L gambit is a perfect example of why such communities are always at risk to the whims of elected officials and an uniformed populace. Incredibly, the hills in La Sierra already have protections in place, but, will they really should this Measure L pass? Will apartments be allowed, which require smaller parcel sizes? Will future councils once again look for short term money to bolster their bottom line by depending on housing and apartments to feed one time only money into their economies, while incurring long term debt through boosted fire services salaries, costly expanded services, etc.? Norconians do whatever you can to fight this!
