In the response, you wrote, The only thing that matters to YOU is your own personal timeline. This cant be true. Other people’s timelines affect others. Every decision you make affects other people. You cant just worry only about your own timeline while traveling through time. That is just impossible. Also, you said that maybe the guy would invent the Saturn V spaceship. Maybe it was meant in the natural order of things that someone else was supposed to invent it. That his death was the one way to prevent him from doing it. As you can tell, I am a believer in the philosophy of a natural order of things. Alternate timelines now give me something else to think about, but I am sure that I will soon come to a conclusion about that. Thanks for listening to my babble. Kathleen Hello again! Sorry, evidently you and I have had a miscommunication. Ill take the blame because I didnt explain myself too well. First, I agree 100% with you regarding the point you make about peoples interactions and affecting each others destinies. Hmmm... how do I clarify this? The key to the whole thing lies in your perception of everything. Reality is nothing more than a completely SUBJECTIVE experience. Ive tried to cover this with some earlier respondents- possibly when you get time, you could go back and read some of them (*). What Im trying to say is that you are creating your own universe as you go along in life, by your conscious and unconscious decisions. Granted, you cannot do anything about an event in New Mexico at 2AM if you live in Manitoba and are asleep at that time(* or for that matter-how do you even know New Mexico is really there? OR- how do you know the street out in front of your residence is even there- UNTIL YOU HAVE TO INTERACT WITH IT?- like I had alluded to earlier in some other discussions with other respondents)- but thats just a part of your reality thats kinda like a subplot, if you will. What I meant about your only concern being your own personal timeline was a reference to this YOU, this KATIE- not Katie 2 or Katie 49 living in a divergent reality. Remember, your existence is nothing more than a culmination of your past decisions and actions. Also, I didnt refer to the now infamous (HA!HA!) steak eater as the inventor of the Saturn V rocket (after all, it was only 1899). I intended that an “interference” in what might have or would have taken place may have touched off a series of events that might one day lead to something that prevented its invention.
