@neiltyson I just shared this https://youtube/watch?v=gek-cUzfpyU with my 21y/o son Dalton. He said of the Hawking Radiation paper, I read that paper when I was 16. Black holes absorb virtual photons of negative mass, this allows them to indirectly emit radiation. Learning this helped my understanding of virtual particle fields at the time Sadly, Im not even sure how to respond to that!! But I too am thrilled with the renewed interest in science and scientist.
