new experiment; so last weekend, 3 weeks out from a 100 miler I ran fast then ran hills then ran nice and long the next day (busy weekend!). Instead of running medium this weekend and easing into taper but then feeling still banged up and having to run crazy light the last week or so before the race, I have taken the weekend almost completely off. My body feels almost all the way healed. Now I plan to do NO speedwork or hill reps or long runs or real tempos, but to have pleasantly paced medium-short runs all the way up to the race. I feel like having to only run pretty slowly the last 12 days before races and feeling broke down a bit until the last couple days is not putting me in an ideal mindset. updates as events warrant. either way, I feel good today. (oh, I also hope that by healing more a little sooner and then running a little more in the last 10 days pre-race, that I can limit the taper crazies some)
