newsflash 3 July 2013 WHAT JUST HAPPENED? Not much locally! Not many members went to the winter series ski race down the coast, so not much to report there. Mauritius ocean Surfski race last weekend. Well done to Matthew Bowman and Barry Lewin for coming 4th and 5th respectively in this competitive event. WHAT’S UP THIS WEEK?. BAY UNION SURFSKI SERIES – RACE 2 - At Marine starting at 08h00 on Sunday morning. Great event with lots of cash prizes and lucky draw prizes on offer. Lifesaving spec ski short course also an option for any of the lifesaving members. WHATS COMING UP? SURFBOARD RACKS – We expect the work on the surfboard racks to commence this week. We do not want to have to cut locks off the racks, but will have to if they are still on, in order for them to do the work required. You will be notified when the upgraded racks are ready for use. We have been asked the question, but unfortunately there is no alternative storage space at the club to accommodate the surf boards down there. The racks will be out of commission for about 1 week. PLEASE! Do not leave them laying around the clubhouse. PLEASE! Take them home with you during this period. We apologize for the inconvenience. 50th ANNIVERSARY MAGAZINE: “A BIG APPEAL GUY’S. The Chairman Dave Rees is appealing to everyone to try and help sell advertising for this magazine. Even if it is just the strap at the bottom of an editorial page which sells for R500. Please do try and sell something as this should be quite easy to do as the life of the magazine will be a couple of years at the very least as it is intended as a coffee table mag which will be kept. I assure you the editorial is top quality and will have lots of pics both old and modern. “We thank all the members that have contributed towards the content of the 50th magazine. The editor is busy compiling what is going to be a quality publication depicting the clubs history We intend going to print during the month of August. MARINE GOLF DAY – 22 AUGUST 2013 – “HELP” We need, PLAYERS, SPONSORED HOLES, PRIZES, urgently. Please support this event in any way that you can. KNCU REGISTRATION 2013 – 2014 SEASON Members wishing to re-register for the 2013 – 2014 season with KNCU and CSA, please request the forms to be completed from the office on [email protected]. PLEASE NOTE: Payments are to be made to the club and the completed forms returned to the club secretary.
