non-adventure of the week: I go 50 miles to SF. I get to the Chinese Consulate to apply for a travel visa. They ask me for my plane ticket itinerary. I say, I dont have it yet because Im asking you for permission to go to China. They say, You have to have it in order to apply for the visa. Now it would have been nice if they answered the phone and told me that, before I drove the 50 miles. Ah well. So my Chinese friends: Is there anything else I need to know before making a fool of myself going to China?
