not surprised... !! as a MOTHER (parent) you KNOW the MOMENT when all of a sudden you can tell the "change" in your child... Devons moment was after his 18 months shots.. thats when he stopped progressing and kinda seemed like he got stuck in a limbo of sorts... by his 2 year shots I said to the Dr. well maybe he is a late bloomer and she agreed ... by 3 I said maybe he is just a child who will speak late and she said could be the case since he is an only child at home... and by 3 1/2 I said could he have hearing problems? and we agreed, let me go get his hearing tested & eyes re tested. they were fine... 20/20 vision and 99% on his hearing... so they suggested I get his behavior analyzed ... the works. . . and it ended with his diagnosis of being on the autism spectrum... and all the time in the back of my mind I could see my happy little boy growing and speaking and being a toddler and then just not progress anymore after his shots... and I KNEW, I JUST KNEW WHY! and it was too late to go back and change it. BUT, ... At 4 his speech is getting better with schooling and an educational plan in place... his behaviors have improved with more structured settings like a classroom.. he does what MOST 4 year olds do...play, watch cartoons, be a kid... Although his speech still needs A LOT of work and he still HAS behaviors.. not "bad" ones like biting or hitting, he NEVER did that ... he just has "different" behaviors like hand flapping and twirling... BUT , he IS making progress... ...and that makes me one happy Mommy. ** *** side thought***** how could something be given to so MANY children it it just be ignored that the rates of autism have SKYROCKETED in the last 20 years and there IS and WAS evidence that it was the shots doing this... not that autism is a death sentence or anything, or even that children with it cant lead great lives its just a shame that we COULD have prevented so many cases of it by not allowing this to continue for so long. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ the article states: "...But in recent months, courts, governments and vaccine manufacturers have quietly conceded the fact that the Measles Mumps Rubella (MMR) vaccine most likely does cause autism and stomach diseases.
